Important Announcement and Updates due to the COVID-19

The 2nd ICANN APAC-TWNIC Engagement Forum with 34th TWNIC Open Policy Meeting will defer to the second half of 2020 due to the urgent COVID-19 situation in the world. This decision was made by the Event collaborative organizations, ICANN APAC, APNIC and TWNIC based on the COVID-19 outbreak, considered a public health emergency of international concern by the World Health Organization.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), China remains a high-risk country at this time. Meanwhile, there still are cases elsewhere, the global risk is not to be underestimated. Under such a severe situation of COVID-19 outbreak, Taiwan Authority has announced publicly restrictions to China/Hong Kong/ Macao travelers entering Taiwan according to the Public Announcement at https://ifi.immigration.gov.tw/ct.asp?xItem=18668&ctNode=36570&mp=ifi_en

that will influence the Event attendees who are from the restricted region entering Taiwan.

As we know, there are cases in at least 26 countries that could be potential of bringing the virus via traveling and could also be accidental exposure of the virus to the Event attendees, speakers, and staff. We stand for our social responsibility for the global Internet Community to decide deferring to the second half of 2020 and hope to have your understanding.
